C.I.T. Camp
Ages 15-17
April 27-29, 2012 - Event # J357R - Cost $130
This is phase one of the CIT training program. The weekend begins with registration at 7PM on Friday evening and concludes on Sunday at 1PM. This is very intense time focusing on learning counselor skills as well as accepting new challenges in your faith journey. As you learn more about yourself, as well as your fellow CIT’s, you will learn how to apply these new skills to various age levels. This session is almost exclusively classroom work and theory. Belay certification is now part of the curriculum.
We are currently scheduled to stay in Andrew.
June 10-16, 2012 - Event # J357W - Cost $235
Phase two is by invitation only, after successful completion of the Phase one weekend. After you are invited by the deans, you can register for Phase two. At camp, you will have hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced counselors and will stay in the rooms with the campers of iCamp 8-10. You’ll gain additional experience in Bible study preparation and presentation, worship, games, evening activities, and other age level characteristics. In the afternoon most days, CIT’s will gather for additional classroom work providing time for questions and accountability. This allows you to serve as a junior counselor by volunteering during other weeks of the summer.
Once you have finished this process, you will be invited to serve as CIT for one additional week during the summer of 2012. This must be coordinated through Ree Enlow in the office.
Any CIT who chooses to attend this program must realize that they are considered a camper and as such must be accompanied by an adult who can sign them in and out. Access to a vehicle is not recommended.
Bonus: When you are accepted into the CIT program, you receive a $50 discount toward the cost of attending, as a camper, one other conference senior high event.
We are currently scheduled to stay in Smith & Thoburn Cabins.
