Adventure Base Camp
July 1-7, 2012
Ages 10-12 - Event # J668 - Cost $379.00
Join us for this exciting adventure as we enjoy a variety of your favorite camp activities. This is a brand new adventure camp that will be statying on site at Jumonville all week (thus the name Adventure Base Camp). Staying on-site is what makes this adventure camp more affordable that many other Jumonville adventure camps (that have to pay for transportation to off-site activities and also pay additional fees to the outfitters). We have a ton of adventure activities that we can do without leaving the Jumonville grounds.
The week will include cookouts, ropes course, swimming, games, mountain boards, Commitment Swing, Rescue Basket Teambuilding Course, bouldering and plenty of campfires with Bible study! The best part of this camp is the youth and excitement of the counselors. We have an energetic group of young adults that are fully devoted to the Lord and want to help campers at Jumonville grow in their understanding of Christ through interactive bible studies with life application combined with a variety of adventure activities.
We are currently scheduled to stay in Hickory and Pine Cabins.
About Heather Horn
Heather grew up in rural Vermont and has always enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking. Josh introduced her to Jumonville a few years ago. It has quickly become one of her favorite parts of the summer! She enjoys seeing the growth that kids undergo when they're faced with the adventures and excitement of camp. She hopes that her involvement as a counselor can help campers to leave with a faith that keeps growing long after camp is over.
About Joshua Horn
Joshua is currently attending the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, pursuing his PhD in Biophysics. He is a scientist by training, with an appreciation for God's marvelous power as seen in all of creation. Growing up, he attended camps Allegheny, Wesley Woods and Jumonville, for everything from swim camps to canoe camps. He worked on staff at Jumonville for three years in high school and college. He recognizes that his time at Jumonville was incredibly important for his spiritual growth and formation, so he wants to be involved in providing similar experiences for campers attending today!
About Brooke Hutchins
Brooke is currently a senior theatre major at Messiah College in Grantham, PA, but is from the Albany area in New York. Brooke first became involved with Jumonville when her sister asked her to join her and a bunch of amazing people from Rochester as a camp counselor back in 2010. Since then she has really enjoyed working with the kids and watching them grow in their faith and also as a community. Brooke looks forward to camp each year to watch the kids grow, but also as a learning experience for herself to help her grow more in her faith.
